The April kit "Make Me Happy" from Tidbitz in Time comes out today.... and believe me it lives up to its title. When I opened my design team box it immediately made me smile. It so full of color.... its like a rainbow of happiness! The papers are the brand new release American Crafts City Park line, full of clouds, hot air balloons and flowers just ready to cut out. There are also many colors of primas, sparkly thickers, rainbow pearls and a book of remarks journal blocks. This is the perfect kit to get you ready for spring!!

Here are a few projects I made with the kit

That is 5 layouts!!! I also made 2 cards that I plan on posting tomorrow. I also have plenty of embellishments left to play some more. This is a fantastic kit. Be sure to check it out before it sells out

Happy Monday!

This past weekend we took Aubrey to her 1st movie in the theater! I was a little nervous because she is so little, but she did great! We took her travel Booster Seat and buckled her in, gave her some snacks and she was ready for the show. We went to see Tangled since it was showing at the dollar theater and I figured if she freaked out and had to leave we were only out $2.50. It was SUCH a cute movie... and she loved it! She loved seeing all the kids at the theater too. She kept waving hi and trying to talk to everyone. She also kept petting my hair since Rapunzel had such long hair. Ive always loved going to see movies at the theater and it was so fun sharing that experience with my baby girl

Afterwards we drove out to one of the local farms to buy apples, cider, and cheese. Ohhh so good! I cant wait til summer when farmer's markets are in full swing.

I also had some crafty fun this weekend! I finished my survivor week 6 layout, tons of cards with the new some odd girl acrylic stamps and then broke out my April tidbitz in time kit for seconds. I so needed to get crafty.... good for the soul

I made this little teeny card for Aubrey since she is in love with the GIIIRRRRRLLLLLLL (aka my oddie girl stamps) I give her images all the time to colors, but she always wants to pretty colored ones. Now she has a girl of her own she can play with and she will keep her mitts off my stash.

I used BEE TIA for this baby card for my baby

Im entering my lil bee into the following challenges:
Pile it On (cutie patootie)
Totally Papercrafts (cute and cuddly)
Stamping Vacation (no fancy borders)
Digital Tuesday (button up)
StampInSanity (punch it out)
PaperPlay (anything goes)
PaperSundaes (photo inspiration)

I scrapped this picture because I was in the mood for some warm weather. Im so anxious for spring to be in full effect! I also seem to be in love with yellow lately............

That's all from me today. Happy Monday all! :)

Sur-vi-va (week 5)

So last week was week 5 of Survivor at Tallyscrapper and Im still going strong.... whoooo hooo!! I cant believe Ive made it this long. Here is the challenge they gave us for week 5

*****This week is an easy week, we have all been working so hard on our challenges.
Since Russell is known for the first season and burning socks you must incorporate SOCKS into your LO.  Either in the TITLE (not the journaling) An embellishment or a PHOTO (not just a person, you must see socks!)************

They other team was assigned HATS..... which I think is way easier...... but they asked for socks.... they got socks.... I stapled one of Aubrey's single baby socks to the page. The other one is LONG gone off in dryer land (or maybe stolen by the Underpants Gnomes gone SOCK.... you never know)!
Here is my layout

Papers are really old Sassafras (my love love love). They were so pretty and pink and went so well with the photo and the sock so I used them. Plus Im trying my best to rediscover fabulous in my stash. Aubrey was 6 days old in the photo. I cant believe she was ever that teeny tiny. *sigh*

Just Pleat It!

Yay for Thursday! Its time for another rockin challenge at the Some Odd Girl blog!  This challenge is ALL about pleating! Pleat some ribbon, pleat some paper, pleat some fabric.... just PLEAT it!

I used the darling Garden Mae for my card. I just love her to pieces! She is just the cutest little oddie. I have so many of her printed and colored already. For this card I used my sharpie markers to tie dye her t-shirt. I also made the spiral center of my flower and added mini pipe cleaner vines. The mesh stuff in the background is plastic canvas.

As for the pleating... most people pleat by sewing or stapling. I pleated using my Helmar tape runner and folding then dabbing a little tape on both sides. Worked like I charm. I then stapled my pleated ribbon to the card.

Be sure to hop on over to Some Odd Girl and pleat something with us!! Also while you are there check out the awesome images in the Spring Release images

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Kaboodle Doodle (yellow, blue, pink, green)
My Time to craft (ladies)
Charisma (card for a teen)
Lexi's Creations (ribbons but no bows)
ScrapMaster's Paradise (daffodil delight, regal rose, marina mist)

Lucky

The new challenge from Scrap that Baby is up and ready. The challenge (in honor of St Patty's day is " IM LUCKY TO BE YOUR MOMMY" (and you get bonus points if you use a bit of green)  My design team REALLY rocked this challenge.... and many of the new girls played along too.

The prize is a $20 gift card from the fabulous store Ally Scraps. I love this store! She carries a ton of popular brands, has frequent sales and shipping is very reasonable. I designed for Ally Scraps back in 2007 (i think) and it was a ton of fun! You should LIKE Allyscraps on facebook for sales notices and all that jazz

I actually did 2 layouts for this challenge. This one I did some time ago for the challenge and forgot I did it. I found it the other day while going through my computer. Its a little funky and fun but the journaling is on the back

Stop by the blog to see what the design team did... and submit your entry for your chance to win.

You go girl

I had a little card making fun in wee hours of the night last night. I decided to do a little catch on some of the awesome card challenge blogs out there. Boy it seems so long ago that I helped start Caardvarks. At the time there were NO card challenge blogs out there and now there are literally HUNDREDS! I bet all those cute digital stamps have something to do with it :)

This card uses the darling Garden Mae from Some Odd Girl. Mae is my favorite and I couldnt resist this little image of her wearing a scarf on her head. You will be seeing this image again from me very very soon as I made several using her this week.

Im entering this card into the following challenges
Pile it on  use green and orange
Pattie's creation go green!
Delicious doodles  green
If the shoe fits   St Patty's green
Color Create  brown, cream, green, black
Creative Card Crew -- green
Fresh Brewed Challenges -- Spots and Dots
Pixie Cottage -- Color Green or recycled Green
Sentimental Sunday -- Go Green

Out like trout!

This weeks survivor layout was a doozy! Check out what Lefa had in store for us

Tangelos.
They're delicious. A cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine - they're sometimes sour. (aren't we all :) )
Why all the tangelo talk?
It's part of your challenge. See - I work a lot. And get stuck at the office for more lunches than I care to. Whilst peeling a tangelo, in the office lunch room the other day, onto a square of paper towel - I laughed to myself and said ha! Self! This would make a great survivor challenge. lol.

So make a page --- using the photo above as your inspiration.
--- with lots of orange (the color not the fruit)
--- 3 buttons

--- oranges grow on trees so have a tree or some leaves on your page (stamped, paper, drawing whatever)

But that's not all!

Let's get EVEN Crazier!
I have some crazy friends - who keep me in stitches with their texts and random messages.
Your title - needs to be from a text message, email, or something you remember from a conversation. The crazier the better!

Love that funky challenge! Here is the layout I created

I made the little tree out of felt and stitched on the leaves. It really is all green... Survivor is a timed thing... you only can get points on it for 1 week. Since I waited til day 6 to upload that doesnt leave much time for points... so I didnt wait for the glue to dry overnight before I scanned. You can see glue in the buttonholes too. I should have used my Helmar 450. It dries faster and its clear. Oh well.... hehe

At the moment Im dreaming of spring! Unfortunately I live in Northeast Ohio and that means Im pretty much buried in snow at the moment. I long for the warmth of a spring afternoon, for the birdies singing, the flowers blooming and the bees buzzing. I really cant wait to take Aubrey to the park and let her explore. Its going to be magic!

Speaking of SPRING its also time for the new Some Odd Girl challenge and this one is ALL about Spring! Kristy is challenging all you card makers to THINK SPRING.... and you may be the lucky winner of 4 fabulous images from the Odd Girl store! ($12 value) Your choice! Now that is a cool prize for 1 little card

Here is my card using Bee Tia from the NEW SPRING release

Isnt she the cutest?!! I paired her with a jenni bowlin journal card, a jillibean soup journal spot, a lil piece of ball trim and the cutest gem butterflies. I even stickled her little wingies. I wish I knew where that springy paper came from. Its been in my bag of scraps so long I forgot where it came from. I just love pink, green and yellow! It just screams spring to me.
