Once upon a Sketch

Tidbitz in Time is sponsoring Once Upon A Sketch this month so I decided to play along. Its probably the most amazing sketch blog Ive ever seen. Now those that know me know that Im not a fan of sketches. For the most part they stifle my creativity and make me stay in a box.... but I love these sketches! Plus the design team is to die for! So much gorgeousness on one blog is almost too much for me. It just makes me need to create!

Here is Nadia's sketch for August 1st

and here is my take. You can click to make it bigger

I also had to use the journaling prompt..... "A perfect Day"

Sketch-a-licoius Saturday

Cookin Up Creations is a fun message board I design for. They have DAILY challenges and inspiration in the form of a Blue Plate Special. If you do a set number of blue plate specials each month you can qualify for the dessert drawing. (this month's dessert is a Basic Grey Pyrus kit!)

Today is Sketchy Saturday and this week it's my turn to offer up the sketchy inspiration.

I came up with this sketch. Its a 3 photo 8.5x11 sketch. I used the November kit from Tidbitz in Time to complete it. Check it out

and my example layout.....

You should stop by Cookin Up Creations and see what's Cookin!
Also check out the chatroom on Monday December 6th at 9pm EST to chat with the lovely and talented Allison Banholzer, owner of Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs.

Getting Sketchy...

Those that know me know I am not a fan of sketches. For some reason the stifle my creativity rather than spark it. I only do sketches when I HAVE to for challenges, contests or design team assignments..... unless of course they are my own sketches.

When I saw I was assigned a sketch this week I braced myself for it. I was so worried it would be impossible to translate to 8.5x11 or have 6000 photos on it... but what I got is this completely CUTE sketch by Delfina

Here is my example....

Supplies used  MME Boo to You pattern paper & die cuts, black and white cardstock, Maya Road chipboard flourishes, American Crafts chipboard thickers, Cosmo Cricket tina alphas, We R Memory Keepers stitched flowers, American Crafts house plastic flowers, colored jewels, Ultra Fine black Sharpie marker, White Sharpie poster paint pen  from the thoughts2paper store

Do you dig this sketch too? If you do you MUST check out the Thoughts2Paper blog! You could be the winner of a 12x12 kit featuring the gorgeous My Minds Eye Meadowlark Dawn.

Happy Scrapping!
