Below Zero

Check out this gorgeous frosty fun January kit from tidbitz in time. Its full of frosted flowers, sparkly sprays, pretty blue tulle, corrugated alphas and bling! .... and its even prettier in person

I really enjoyed this kit because it pushed me to tr out a few techniques I had never tried before. The Pink Paislee anthology papers are ink resist so you can experiment with different ways to add color to your designs. They can also be customized to fit the photos you are hoping to scrap. I used glimmer mists and alcohol inks to add color to my designs.

Im only going to show you a few of my designs because 2 of them are put back for the new  Tidbitz "bird is the word" challenge blog coming next month!

And finally a card. I used the MerMae image from Some Odd Girl, plus at least 2 different kinds of bling as per the current card challenge.  Bling used: Glimmer mist, stickles, frosted prima flower, prima pearls & crystals, prima glistening vines

An end and a challenge

This week is my last reveal at Cookin Up Creations. I had such fun designing for them but it was time for me to move on. Its such a positive and inspiring community. I'll definitely be hanging around to chat now that my term is up. Each month the community is sponsored by the latest and greatest in the scrapbooking world. My december box was filled with clear acrylic stamps from Mark's Finest Papers, pretty tags from the etsy store Ormolu and part of the Kris Kringle line from SEI.

Since I was a little Christmas'd out I decided to use the Christmas papers to create a lovey dovey layout. I misted the swirly background paper with both green and pink glimmer mist then layered on the ormolu tags and some random fun embellishments

I also created 2 Christmasy cards with the same supplies

To add texture to this card I painted some punchinella red and layered it over the SEI papers. I also punched out a little heart and added it to the middle tree
and this one uses the cracked background and sentiment stamps from Marks Finest Papers. I also included a digi image from Some Odd Girl that I colored with markers, colored pencil (for skin) and stickles

I also made the last card with at least 2 different types of bling to qualify for the Some Odd Girl challenge blog. Bling used: sequins, sparkly present sticker, Green stickles, and Christmas Red stickles

Iron on some fun

For this weeks altered item at Cookin Up Creations  I decided to use the super cute SEI "My own monster" iron on kit and make a few tee shirts for Aubrey. I received the Sassy Susie Monster kit. Not only was it super easy to use but they are fantastic quality. I purchased a package of 2T/3T shirts so they would be a little large on her and she could wear them as jammies. I got 5 plan white tees for $5.45. I plan to bling up the other 2.

Here is the tee shirt I made with the main iron on

Here she is wearing it. It was hard to get a decent picture because she was running everywhere. This is the only pic of 50 where the shirt is clearly visible and of course she is sneezing. (she has a lil cold) Ill try for a decent picture tomorrow when i have light.

Most pics look like this:

I also used the bits and pieces of leftover faces to make a few more shirts

She loves her shirt! She keeps patting her monster. The other 2 I put away for Christmas presents

I love these iron ons from SEI! I cant wait to get more. Now to find a store they are carried

Holiday prep and girly scraps

Yay its friday!! Hopefully that means I will get a little scrappy time in tonight. I really need it! This week has been a whirlwind of christmas parties, shopping, cleaning and decorating. My tree still isnt up because quite frankly Im skeeeeeerd! Aubrey is so curious and adventurous. She can rip apart a room in less than 15 minutes and quite frequently does. She likes to explore EVERYTHING. I know the tree will be part of that. Dh wants to buy some sort of a fence to put around the it (or a baby corral of some sort like on rugrats) I think he should just tether the thing to the wall. Hopefully something will work.

Its almost candy making time too! A few years ago I started the tradition of making candy to give as gifts for Christmas. Its a lot of work but everyone loves it. Last year Aubrey slept sweetly in her swing on the kitchen floor while I made TONS of different things. I may have to simplify this year or maybe have my MIL come spend the night to watch Aubs (if I can handle that... lol)

I got some girly scrapping time in last week. I got my hands on some of the NEW Imaginisce Enchanted line thanks to a very generous scrappy friend. As soon as I saw them I knew they were perfect for this picture of Aubrey in her lil fairy princess costume. I just love that lil princess stamp. I also added some glitz bling and a prima rose

I gave the lil princess a wand to make her a fairy princess. I just used a flower stamp and cut it out and placed it in her hand. I love those snag em stamps. So cute and so cheap!!

I also made a card with my leftovers. I stamped 2 princesses and placed them together like they were holding hands. I added some Frances Meyer alpha stickers, some random lace and a polka dot prima sprite flower

I just love getting girly with my scrapping :) Im so lucky I had a baby girl so I can play with all the pretty pretty accents.

Falling leaves

When you have a toddler watching them explore the world is an awesome experience. Something as simple as falling leaves becomes an adventure.

Last week was rough. Back teeth were coming in and Aubrey was miserable. She was a fevered, crabby, cranky mess. She was so hot I took her outside in the brisk fall air to cool her off. That is when she discovered the leaves....

We had an hour of crunching, tossing, kicking, squealing fun playing in the leaf pile in our front yard. Of course I took my camera and got lots of fun shots of her frolicing around. She felt much better when we came in a she took a nice loooong nap.

Speaking of teething.... have you seen the new issue of ScrapStreet ezine this month?? Check out Melissa's blog bay section of the NOVEMBER issue for a write up on Scrap That Baby! All of my fabulous design team Mamas were published in the magazine as well as interviews, and inside info on being on the team and lots of fantastic layouts.

We also have a fantastic sponsor this month at Scrap that Baby! Check out prompt 17 Splish Splash (bath layouts) for a chance at the October kit from Tidbitz in Time. You can submit any bath related layout new or old featuring a child 4 and under.

Some odd girl #9 and digi day early bird

This weekend I bought my first ever digi stamps. Ive always used freebie images but this time I couldnt resist. Ive been coveting the digi stamps from Some Odd Girl for quite sometime. They are just so darned adorable.

I also noticed they have a challenge blog so I decided to play. I scribbled down their challenge... to use a digi image to create a background. V cool. I decided to use my own digi stamp as a background. I made a few funky doodle stamps a few years ago to sell and just never got around to it. Since I was printing digi images I decided to print mine and use it along with my Faerie Mae odd girl.

Upon further review of the challenge (the next day) I realized I was supposed to repeat a design to make background. Oh well. Shows that mommy brain wasnt functioning at 3am when I scribbled my notes. Then I figured... what the hell... I'll submit anyways. What can they do... kick me out or something :)

Here is my lil card for Style #9

I also played with the early bird challenge for November SOD digi days! The challenge was to create dimension and add at least 2 items that were dimensional. I created 2 cards for this challenge... I just need to decide which one to submit.

In this card using the Princess Mae stamp, the lil princess is raised with pop dots. I also lifted the edge of the circle and used dimensional Prima roses and glitz frosting

and this mini card uses a Tiny Tia freebie that I snagged a month or so ago. Both Tia and the flower are pop dotted off the card. I also used plastic canvas and tied some of the Whisker Graphics divine twine thru it.

Im sure you will be seeing more Odd girls from me soon. They are just darling! I cant wait to get more. If you like them as much as I do, check out the website for more cuteness and a monthly fun freebie stamp.

Tosh!!

On Sunday night Matt and I went on a date night! (with a babysitter and everything... trust me that never happens) We went to see the Tosh tour twenty ten! Daniel Tosh is seriously hysterical. I love his show Tosh.0 on comedy central and he did not disappoint with his stand up. Since the show was on campus at the U of A I expected us to be some of the "older" fans, but I was happily surprised that was not the case. The 2 openers were also funny. I did get a little tipsy before we arrived (um hello ....babysitter!!) but since Matt bought the tickets as a surprise for my birthday I figured it was time to completely cut loose for once. It was nice to go out and see a show and have drinks like we used to (even though I missed my Aubs by the time we made our way home)

I also finished my weekly project for Cookin Up Creations this weekend. I was assigned a layout for week 2 and I used some of the super cool intricacy papers sent to me from Midnight Oil scrapbook designs. Here is my layout using the pink flower intricacy.

The cool thing about MOSD is they are made with 99% post consumer recycled materials and they are ALL made right here in the USA. Very cool Midnight Oil, very cool

A clear winner!

Its time once again for another reveal at Cookin Up Creations! This month we have been sponsored by Midnight Oil Designs. They very generously sent us an variety of their great products. The design team will spend this month showing you all the fantastic thing you can create using their intricacy papers, acrylic albums, and embellishment kits.

This week i was assigned a mini album. I decided to use the Midnight Oil "Clearly designed Show Off album" It is a 4x6 acrylic accordian album with pre-drilled holes. I layered hambly transparencies so i could add color and still enjoy the clear effect. Also from Midnight Oil: white stars punched out from the star intricacies and punchies and ribbons from the embellishment kit.

I  has so much fun creating this album! I used our camp crafts volunteers photos taken in the photo booth back in 2008. This was the first clear album Ive ever done (and the first accordian album) It wont be the last. I have my eye on another clear album from Midnight Oil. Hopefully I can do another one soon

Now its November

Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 32. 30 FRICKIN 2.

How the heck did that happen already? The though of it makes me feel a little old.... but then I think about it and I realize its really not so old at all. (especially since my husband will be 40 soon *evil laugh*)

I almost forgot it was my birthday due to the halloween hangover I was experiencing. My birthday was very uneventful (no cake, no presents I did end up going out to dinner with my dad, his gf, aubrey and dh)

At least Aubrey and I had a great weekend scrapping, watching football and doing all kinds of halloween stuff.

I finished this card for Scraping/Crafting friends blog using this stamp set  from My Grafico digital stamps

Then halloween morning we watched the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (again) She loves it

Then we went Trick or Treating.... check out the cutest little fairy ever

Then we carved a pumpkin! Mommy drew the face, Aubrey scooped out the goo and Daddy carved it

all the halloween fun made the sucky birthday not so bad. At least my little princess has a ton of special days to come... and I get to share them with her

Patterns & Pearls

I was excited from the moment I received the November kit from Tidbitz in Time. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this kit. It was love from the moment I ripped it out of the box. Its filled with so much vintage yumminess!!  Here it is.... Patterns & Pearls

To begin its filled with October Afternoon (which is one of my all time favorites) The sought after Thrift Shop line (papers, stickers, journal blocks) is paired with the coolest new Jenni Bowlin buttons & pretty chipboard butterflies. It also boasts a Donna Salazar calender page, a tube of Ranger liquid pearls (like stickles only pearly), grungeboard  and some lovely ZVA Creative embellishments. There are 2 alphabets and 4 trims!

I created 8 projects this month. I couldnt help myself. I finished my 4 but just kept going back in for more. Here's what I came up with:

Run.... dont walk to get this kit!!

and if you love Tidbitz in Time..... make sure you check out Scrap that Baby on Monday!! A little bird told me something about an october kit up for grabs
