Take Two

I hope everyone had a HAPPY Mother's Day! Mine was better than I anticipated. I knew I wasnt getting anything due to finances and was okay with that but I spent most of saturday feeling very unappreciated and unloved. After creating a very angry layout I felt better :Sometimes a girl just needs to get it alllll out!

Sunday made up for it. I went to lunch with my mom and my siblings, picked up my MIL and then was able to lock myself in my scraproom with a bottle of wine and play for 3 hours straight. My husband (mostly) made dinner for us and I played with my sweet little Aubrey for a bit before hiding out in the scraproom for another hour. It was just what I needed to recharge and get my craft on. I got my crop on at tallyscrapper. One of the NSD challenges was to create 2 all occasion cards that sound be similiar but not the same. We were also required to use buttons and bright colors. I decided to combine it with a few other challenges....and of course my odd girls

Both cards use scraps from Cosmo Cricket garden variety

This card uses CLEAR stamp Smell the flowers Tia and sentiment

Im entering her into the following challenges

Going back to 1934

First.... Some happy news! I found out I was spotlighted at Paper Variety! They chose to feature my Puddles card with Stompin' Tobie for their April Showers challenge
I was spotlighted at TPV!
Yay!!....................AND...... I won the Lollipop Crafts challenge last week so I'll be getting  some stampy goodness from inky impressions

Now Im going to tell you a secret about me.  I am a paper whore. Every CHA I drool and sigh at all the prettiness. BC (you know before child) I would then buy the entire line, use a few of the papers and then it would sit in my paper cupboard til I thought of it again. Now my budget is SO tight it squeaks. I spend now in a year what I used to spend in a month. I rarely get any new stuff that doesnt come from design team gigs.

That being said when I saw the Cosmo Cricket circa 1934 line I HAD to have it. Since I couldnt have it ALL I settled with just buying a few bits and pieces. I bought 3 patterned papers and 1 journal block paper. I pulled it out last night and got my scrap on. Here is what I created....

and there is another layout i have started on my desk using the scraps! ohhhh and there is a card

Im entering the card into the following challenges
Truly Scrumptious (vintage)
Stars and Stamps (layers)
Stamp Insanity (flower power)
Paper Pal Arts (flowers ppa89)
Mami doodles (kraft)
Cupcake Crafts (lots of layers)
Pixie Dust Studio (sentiment)
Paperplay (photo)

Not bad for only a few papers eh?

Fun at the park

This past weekend was so nice we decided it would be fun to take Aubrey to the park. Originally we were going just to walk around and enjoy the weather, but when we got there the BIG new jungle gym was deserted. We then decided to let Aubrey have her way with it. She was so cute exploring the tunnels and playing peek a boo with mommy around the bars. Daddy even let her go down the slide!

Here are a few of the over 100 pics I took! They arent perfect pics because I took them with my iphone but they are scrappable! yay!

Isnt she just the sweetest! She had a fabulous time running and climbing all over the place. It just thrills me to watch her walk around and figure things out. She is SO smart.

I wish I could take her all the time. It makes me sad that the weather is getting colder and there are only a few more days like this left in the year. Im going to try to take her tomorrow afternoon since it will be 80 degrees.

I also got some scrapping done this weekend. The park tired her out and she took an extra long nap in my scraproom. Check out this layout of Aubrey with my younger brother Ede I created with Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety papers. Ive been itching to use them since I found the stack of them at (the NEW) Hobby Lobby

I just noticed I forgot to date it before I scanned it. Oh well. hehe!
