Tidbitz In Time July Reveal

Once again its time for the fantastic new kit from Tidbitz In Time. Wendy always amazes me with her incredibly cute and versatile kits!

The July kit features the Pebbles (American Crafts) Treehouse line, adorable brads, 4 fabulous trims, glittery thickers and buttons. Its all that a bag of the cutest chips (sparkly chipboard shapes)

And can I just tell you how much I LOVE the technique that came with the July kit? I seriously cannot get enough of making embellishments out of felt. The templates that come with the kit start as a great jumping off point to create all kinds of unique handmade embellishments.

Here are a few projects I made with the July kit To see more of my projects, plus layouts from Jillian, Mary and Wendy check out the Tidbitz gallery.

Fathers Day Part 1

Since we are in major budget mode around here I decided to make Fathers Day gifts this year. After looking through boxes (of things I havent unpacked yet from my move 7 months ago) I uncovered a few wooden frames that I bought a few years ago for $1. One of them held a 4x4 photo, the other a 4x6. I decided to alter them as gifts for my dad and my stepdad.

I love mod podge! They were so easy.... and they look much better than these crappy iphone pictures. I used leftovers from my May Tidbitz In Time kit

Part 2 is coming soon. I made my husband a mini album using pictures of him and miss Aubrey. It's almost done (yes I know fathers day was almost a week ago.... I ran out of photo paper! doh!) I'll photograph it in a few days.

Busy weekend!

The last few days have been very busy but (mostly) full of fun!

Thursday we headed over to the Family Fun Fest in a neighboring town. Its basically an average sized carnival with a lot of family activities. We had some fair food, played some Skee ball and enjoyed the carnival atmosphere.

Friday my husband and I went to an officer dinner for one of his clubs. It had been awhile since we were out alone without the baby just the 2 of us. I was worried but Aubrey did great for those 2 hours. She even took a long nap so we stopped for ice cream on the way home.

Saturday we went to see Garrison Keillor (Prairie Home Companion) Live at Blossom with FIL and sMIL. One the way home we stopped to get Aubrey and then headed downtown to the big car show for the fireworks celebration. Aubrey LOVED the fireworks. She wasnt scared at all and starred up into the sky and giggled as they went off.

Today was supposed to be spent on the boat with FIL and then at my brother's with my dad. Unfortunately TEETHING reared its ugly head last night and Aubrey and I were up all night. Id give her tylenol and she'd sleep til it started to wear off and up again. Poor thing was miserable. We ended up staying home and sleeping most of the day today. She seems to be doing better and is currently playing in a cardboard box. (with all the toys she has she prefers the BOX! kids!)
Happy Father's Day!

ScrapFIT mini workout: Getting Tagalicious!

Its been about a year since Id made a tag but the mini workout at ScrapFIT this weekend was to get your tag on.... so I did. These arent your average boring tags of the past. I actually use them to tie onto gift bags instead of making a card. They are without ribbon because I dont add the ribbon til I tie it on the bag.

The stamps were both bought on ebay years 4 ago when I first started getting crafty again. I have NO IDEA who makes them, but they are 2 of my favorites. If you have a clue who makes them please tell me in the comments  :)

Color Inspiration experiment

I have a little stash of photos stashed on my hard drive that inspire me for one reason or another. Last week I fould these killer curtains on the Anthropologie website.
The color combo is unique and the crinkliness adds a cool textural effect. I also love the big flowers and funky swirls.

Here is the layout I created from the picture......

The large flowers were created by soaking a piece of gray cardstock with water,  crumpling it into a ball, spraying with glimmer mist and drying it with my heat gun. After that I hand cut the flowers.

The flowers are so cool... like a leathery fabric look..... i also doodled around the edges because well.... i kinda have issues with needing to do that.

Also the silver hambly likes to create odd shadows with my scanner so pay no attention to the shine.

I hope this photo will inspire you like it did me!

Countdown....

Its almost here......Only 5 more days til True Blood!  My dvr is all ready for the hours of summer blood sucking and other things that go beyond the pg-13 rating. I cant wait! Mmmmmm

I got to scrap myself silly last night. I usually go to my mom's on Tuesdays and hang out and scrap. Aubrey has fun visiting her Nana and her Mama. Last night she decided it was time to  grab ahold of Mama's hand and walk across the room. I think someone forgot to tell her she isnt even 8 months old yet. I am in serious trouble.

and speaking of trouble..... the other day I went to get a glass of water. I was gone about 30 seconds.....

...... apparently that is long enough to get all the way across the room, pull herself up on her toybox and start throwing things around....

Did I mention she isnt 8 months old.... LOL..... Its going to be a wild ride that is fo sho

I finshed up 3 layouts yesterday for Tidbitz In Time. The kit is so fun and cheerful I cant wait to create more. Aubrey even came home with a little sparkle on her head from the kit. I cant wait to share my layouts... but until then here is a non kit layout of my beautiful girl eating

Camp rocks!

I sit on the board of a non-profit that helps with needs and provides fun and comfort for children with cancer. Its a completely volunteer organization. Every year we sponsor their summer camp. It a wonderful way for the kids to get away and just have fun. There are nurses on staff to make sure meds and chemo are given out when needed and older teens who have survived cancer serve as counselors and mentor the kids. Camp is AWESOME.

My mother and I do the crafts at camp every year so we spend Saturdays at camp. We also try to do something big and different. This year we had laser tag! It was an indoor gigantic inflatable arena with smoke and corridors and everything! Too cool

Here are some pictures of the crafts we did this year. All of these items were made by campers ages 6-15

*Framed About Me scrapbook pages*

 *Jeweled Foamie Vistors*

*Greeting cards to donate to the annual auction*

*Sand Art*

*Foamie Door Hangers*

*Tie Dye T-shirts*

*Campers hard at work creating!!*

It just warms my heart to see kids creating! Theses werent the only crafts either.... I just didnt have the time to take as many pictures as I usually do. I went on only 2 hours sleep thanks to Miss Aubrey's teething ... and I had her with me as well. But the kids had a BLAST... and that's all that mattered to me.

ScrapFIT #21

The current workout at scrapFIT is to use a machine! You know like the cricut, sizzix, slice or perhaps a punch

For this layout I used 3 different punches. First the oh so coveted Martha Stewart butterfly punch that my mother received in a swap. I punched a bunch of paper like mad last time I was at her house so I could have butterflies to play with for awhile.

The other 2 punches were used to make the flower. A fiskars large circle punch to make the center and a 2.5" scalloped circle punch from Marvy Uchida

The layout was made using my June design team kit from Tidbitz In Time

loooong weekend!

We had a pretty fun weekend but boy am I spent!

We started early Saturday pulling the boat out of storage, cleaning it and doing all the routine maintenance. Saturday night was spent having cocktails and pizza while hanging out with my sister in law and my nieces.

Sunday morning Matt hauled the boat up to the lake and put it in while I made food to take to my brothers. Sunday evening was spent at a big bbq at my brothers eating and drinking watching kids running around and then a BIG bonfire after most the kiddos had gone home or to bed (except for my Aubrey... she runs with the big dogs)

Monday was supposed to be spent on the boat.

We got up early (for us) Got ready, ran to target for an infant life jacket and sped towards the lake. Unfortunately the weather had other plans. It was thunderstorming by noon and boating was done for the day. We stopped and got burgers to see if it would pass quickly but ended up heading home with a cranky baby. After a nap (all 3 of us) I managed to get my scrap on while putiing a dent in the huge stack of laundry that had piled up thanks to a weekend away. I finished my layout for Scrap that baby! just in time, Check it out! New prompt is up!

Now its off to bed with my sleepy head before I can no longer resist the urge to go eat the bowl if ice cream that is calling my name
