Sneak Peek Week -- Momma Mae and Snuggle Kaylee

It's sneak peek week at Some Odd Girl! Stop by the Odd  Blog everyday this week to see a sneak of the April 19th release. There will be a stamp (or 2) revealed everyday and chances to WIN WIN WIN! I made 4 cards for this release so I'll be sharing them here during sneak peek week. :)

Today Kristy is debuting Momma Mae and Baby Snuggle Kaylee. I was lucky enough to snag both of these cute lil ladies! Both of them are perfect for baby shower gifts and since I know of several babies on the way (PLUS Im going to be an Auntie again) I'll be using these a ton this summer!

Here is my card with Momma Mae. I also used her on THIS card last week.

Im am entering Momma Mae in the following challenges:
Digital Tuesdays (little women)
Incy Wincy (flower friendzy)
Crafty Cardmakers (recipe)

With Baby Snuggle Kaylee I chose to use her on a tag to tie on a gift bag.The picture is AWFUL but I had to use her for a baby shower and the weather wouldnt cooperate.

Now get yourself over to the Odd Blog for a chance to WIN.

Christmas tags!

Hey hey! Im here recovering from the Thoughts2Paper Christmas blog hop hangover to show you a few ways to use your Christmasy scraps to make darling gift tags for your holiday packages.

I used my scraps and a few scalloped circle punches to create these super simple gift tags. Simply add a ribbon and tie them to the package. I doodled around the edges with a black sharpie and the flourish is stamped in black staz-on ink

Supplies used: SEI Glitzmas papers, SEI Glitzmas acrylic Stamp set from the thoughts2paper store
Other Supplies: Coredinations vintage cardstock, Marvy Uchida Mega and Giga scalloped circle punches, prima essentials flowers, making memories metal circles, Cosmo Cricket tiny alphas, Black Staz-on ink, Black Sharpie

Another option is to forget punching the hole and tape them onto your package! A home made tag makes your package way more personal than a cheesy store pack of stickers!

Birthday fun

Today is my nephew Tyler's birthday party. He is 5!! F*I*V*E! I cant believe he is that old. It seems like yesterday he was a little guy crab walking around.

I have been trying to figure out what to get him for his birthday. It should be easy... he loves games, cars, spongebob square pants, crafts... all kinds of things. Problem is he has everything and there is no way of knowing if its a repeat. I was out grocery shopping yesterday and they had all their summer fun toys on clearance for 90% off. I bought him a TON of stuff on the cheap! Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, paddleball, ball catchers, foam darts, a foam pellet type gun... all kinds of fun. I bought a 49 cent bucket and tossed everything in it...

Then I made a little taggie with some acrylic stamps and stuff from my scrap bag. I tied it to the bucket... here is a close up

The whole present cost me $6 for everything. He loved it! and had a SUPER birthday

ScrapFIT mini workout: Getting Tagalicious!

Its been about a year since Id made a tag but the mini workout at ScrapFIT this weekend was to get your tag on.... so I did. These arent your average boring tags of the past. I actually use them to tie onto gift bags instead of making a card. They are without ribbon because I dont add the ribbon til I tie it on the bag.

The stamps were both bought on ebay years 4 ago when I first started getting crafty again. I have NO IDEA who makes them, but they are 2 of my favorites. If you have a clue who makes them please tell me in the comments  :)

May shower and holy crap I actually scrapped.

Wheeeee! I cant believe its May already. I cant believe Im almost halfway thru the pregnancy. Time is going so so fast. Im currently a wee bit over 19 weeks.

My baby sister Jessica is also pregnant. This past Sunday my sil in law Mindy and I threw her a little baby shower. I took this picture of Mindy and Jess bellying up to the buffet line. We made her all the food she wanted. Mindy made a lasagna and I made her a mini salad bar. I even made a cheesecake from scratch for her (finally used the springform pan I have had for 3 years and never used)

She is so big right now. She is due June 2nd. I think its so exciting that our babies will be so close in age. Less than 6 months apart. She is having a boy and naming him AJ. She and her boyfriend are moving into their own place this weekend. I pray everything works out for them. She is so young... just turned 18. I just hope she finishes high school. (She has only 1 year left) I know she will be a good Mommy... but watching her try so hard makes me feel grateful that I waited to get pregnant til I was 30.

In other news... I actually scrapped! I mean seriously scrapped several times this week. Maybe my mojo is coming back. I made this cute little tag instead of a card to hang on Jessica's baby gift. It was fun digging thru my bag of scraps. It really makes me want to make more tags. I have been planning on making some to sell on etsy (to make some baby money I so desperately need)... I just never seem to get around to it. I think Im going to make this one my desktop in the hopes of inspiring me to do SOMETHING.

I also managed to do May #2 for category stories. The theme is "What's Cookin?" Check out the site to see what our storytellers cooked up this time. The prize is lots of HAMBLY!! Sweet, transparent vanilla scented HAMBLY! yum!

To win all you have to do is submit your NEW layout based (however loosely) on our current category. I chose to do mine on my adorable nephew Tyler (if you even knew the orneriness behind that sweet smile) who just loves to help my mom bake.

I also got my next guttergirlz layout done... but I cant show it to you. Its a secret until May 30th.... but I can tell you I really LOVE the song and my layout is really PINK!!

Have you ever played in the gutter with us?? If not you should. Its quite theraputic and very fun. If you already like to get dirty... maybe you should check THIS out!

Rose Bowl baby!

Oh yeah! Penn State is Rose Bowl bound. I'm so excited for my Alma mater. I wish I was back at school at the moment. I remember the feeling of victory that spreads throughout campus.... and the craziness.....a happy drunken mix of young and old. Its electric..that feeling. I love being in the middle of it.

Being a Penn State fan didn't exactly make me popular amongst a sea of Ohio State fans at work this evening, but I didn't let that ruin my enthusiasm. Ohio State is my 2nd favorite team and I loved watching them give Michigan a pounding.

Can you believe its Sat eve and I havent seen Twilight yet?? :( The tickets to the midnight show sold out several DAYS before the show. I wasn't sure of my work schedule so I had to wait. I was hoping fore the midnight because I can never go out on Fri/Sat nights. I usually work 10/12 hour shifts and I'm up mostly at night. *fingers crossed* I can go tomorrow. My husband is feeling fluish and I want him to sleep as much as possible. I could always scrap.

I actually made a few tags the other day. I hadn't made a tag in 2 years. I found this big box of shipping tags my mom had given me when my step dad sold his store.

I decided to make a tag for my tally sister Renee and then it all just went on from there. I couldn't stop. I will just choose a ribbon and tie them onto packages. It was fun to use my stamps. I'm so making some for Christmas. I just need to dig out my Christmas stamps. I'm currently rearranging my tiny scrap room and its a HIDEOUS mess but it already feels alot better. I wish I could go buy this storage from Target. Maybe when we move :)
