Busy weekend!

This weekend there is a big festival/car show in my town. It makes my life extra crazy when you live downtown. Its gonna be super fun getting my card out of the parking lot to go to my sister's graduation party. It's worth it though. In the evening there is a Beatles tribute band and fireworks. I never get to go out and appreciate the festivities. I always have to work.

Speaking of work... we are supposed to re-open a month from today. Im so excited about having the money! I miss my disposible income but Im thanking God that I had a savings.

The July kit from More than Scrapbooking went up yesterday. I made 3 cards for the kit this month.

The kit is such a cool mix of crate papers, scenic route chipboards and 7 gypsies embellies. I so cant wait to use this kit to do a layout about my nephew. This kit just screams little boys to me.

Prizes Prizes Prizes

I got the big box today from the owners to Scrappy Arts for winning their Amazing Race contest. The picture above is just my stuff and its all packaged up. It would take me forever to lay it all out there is so much stuff

I just got it all split up between me and Jen. Alot of it was easy because most of the lines came with 2 of each pp. Here's what we got.

We each got a Tinkering Ink Westminister kit. (12 pieces of paper, 2 alphas, diecuts, 2 finery)

We each got all the new Rusty Pickle Mayflower AND island summer papers. We split all the ribbons and embellies in half.

We each got this cool island summer mini book kit with gigantic chipboard circles, felt, transparencies, and all kinds of embellies.

We split 2 gigantic kits from Reminesce, Great Outdoors and Sports chick. We also got several smaller kits with fun themed papers and embellies.. I split them up and made up each one big kit.

I am so excited.... I never won a big contest with prizes like this!
Here is a picture of BOTH of our kits together after I split it all up

challenge time!

I havent done any challenges in awhile so I figured Id try to get back into it. I combined 2 challenges today to get this funky layout of me as a wee little girlie. I actually started this layout last night for the HMITM challenge. I was using a different picture. I just couldnt get it to work. So today after reading Twisted originals... I switched to a different picture and moved my picture far to the left. I love this picture of me and my big bird. I cant remember if it was my aunt or her friend that painted that. I'll have to ask my mom. It was really cool.

Truely Truely Outrageous

I was over at my mom's on Monday when I decided to go thru her picture boxes. I found the coolest pics! I cant wait to scrap my childhood. This picture just cracked me up. I so loved Jem as a kid. She was the total rocker chick, pink hair and a microphone. I even had Jem dolls that would rock out when the cartoon came on.

Unfortunately I had no sisters (at this time... my sisters came later) so I had to make holograms out of my little brothers. They didnt seem to mind too much. They got to be rockers.

The cool thing is... with the wonders of google and YouTube I can relieve the Jem days even now. Check her out! No one else is the same.

I cant believe I forgot....

To mention that Jen and I won the amazing race contest at scrappy arts (no not the rusty pickle one) I am so excited! The final challenge was to scraplift each other... which for us was so easy. I just love Jen's style. Soon I will get to play with the fabulous prizes. Cant wait!

Oh and in case anyone is interested. We are looking for another designer for caardvarks. If you love to make fun funky cards it may be worth checking out. :)

Holy Sunburn batman!

My official best friend is Hawaiian Tropic cucumber melon aftersun lotion

We had a wonderful time on the boat on Monday, but holy crap did I get burnt. Luckily for me, its only one arm that is super painful. My husband put too much sunscreen on my that arm.... and the moment it got wet, my entire arm was white. So I wiped off the white with a towel. 1 hour later my arm is fried.

And man does it HURT. Its tingly, I cant really raise it past my shoulder or it kills. I couldnt even wear a bra on tuesday. Its EVIL evil evil.

So Ive been stuck inside the last 2 days.... bored out of my skull.
I did get 2 layouts done yesterday. Hopefully a few more today. I like to get to play between design team gigs. I guess the one postive thing about not working is getting to scrap more for me :)

Fun fun fun!

I have a busy busy weekend! Lucky for me its lots of fun stuff! Today is the first Rockin on the River. whoo hoo am I excited. Nothing like grooving to the tunes outside drinking a big beer and eating fair food. Tonight is the Led Zeplin cover band. Should be a great time. In honor of Rockin on the river... here is a drinking layout. (using March poppy ink kit)

Before that we have to rush and get the boat in the water so we can use it for Memorial Day. It needs vacuumed, cleaned and the speakers hooked up before we can go drop her in at the dock.

Tomorrow I have to volunteer for a cancer walk. Im not walking because I thought Id be working, but I will be down there handing out food and registering people all day. Hopefully the can raise some $$

After that is all done... ITS PIRATES TIME!! I so cant wait. *happy dance*

So excited!

I am so excited! I have been asked to join the new design team at More Than Scrapbooking This cool altered/scrapbook club is under new ownership and ready to shine! They will have a cool altered project monthly along with extras stuff to scrap your heart out. I cant wait to see what Lori has in store.

This news came at the perfect time since I spent a few hours today picking thru the sooty grime at work trying to salvage equipment and other various items around the bar. I showered and scrubbed and I swear my hair STILL smells like fire. The place is a hideous mess, far worse than I imagined. It was very sad.

The insurance company finally got back to my boss. They will only be paying me $3.43 (which is my hourly) and not paying a portion of missed tips. Basically I'll get $400 a month to live on. I am going to have to think of another way to make a few hundred dollars a month. I think I am going to open an etsy shop. I have a few fun designs I figure maybe I can share and make a little extra money doing what U love.

Happy Dance

I am so so excited! Jen and I have made it to round 4 of the AR contest. There are only 3 teams remaining... and next weeks challenge will determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. I cant imagine what kind of challenge is next. I already had to do a mini album in 5 days. My secret fear is the altered item. I suck at altering.

This is the cover of my little mini. This book holds some of my favorite pictures of me and my little brother Matthew. I used alot of my new goods from the May Poppy Ink kit. It was brimming with Sassafras Lass. I love love love their products.

One little word

Have you heard of the new One Little Word challenge blog? Its definately one I'll be checking out. I love the concept and 2 of the girlies are my absolute faves!! (Im not saying who, but they both dig the rectangle)

Here is my layout for challenge 1 (GO). These pictures just happened to be on my desk as I was checking out the place. Immediately I started to giggle. This is my Mama at my wedding getting down and funky on the dance floor with ALL of my groomsmen. hahahaha. My mom took all the pictures.

And the groucho marx getups? Well lets just say this is totally my husbands sense of humor. He loves props like this. He actually went under my skirt to get the garter and came out wearing the glasses.

I went way funky on this one. I even got to use my pretty little poppy ink chandelier stamp. Fun fun :)

Amazing Race results...

Jen and I have now made it to round 3 of the amazing race at scrappy arts. This challenge is the hardest yet and I will admit I havent started yet. I best be braking the mod podge out tonight... if I can just decide on a theme.

This is my round #2 layout. The challenge was to do a layout in the style of Elsie Flannigan or Stacey Julian. I just had to go with Elise. I love her whimsical magical style so much. This isnt a direct lift, although I did lift bits and pieces of different Elsie layouts to get this one. I drew the scallopped frame and cut it out.

I also had a happy mail day today. I got my poppy ink kit and add on, plus a few happy mails. :)

Holy Fire Batman!

Sunday night late my workplace caught fire.

It happened shortly after closing. Thank the Lord there was nobody there. The fire destroyed most of the kitchen. The rest of the gigantic place has awful smoke damage. I heard down the line that the damage is estimated at $350,000. Lucky the fire didnt reach the bar... all the liquor igniting would have been awful.

So I am currently now without a real income for the next few months. I heard there is insurance, so I will be getting an unemployment type partial check if I agree to come back after the damage is fixed.

I feel badly for my boss. Im just glad he's smart enough to have insurance and all that jazz... but he will be losing alot of $. The biggest $ day of the year is 3 weeks away. The repairs will not be done in time.

I still cant grasp the fact that I dont have to work tomorrow. I have been on the phone ALL day talking with disbelieving co-workers. Some of these girls live day to day. Im so scared for them.

Sketch anxiety

My girl Jen and I signed up for this Amazing Race contest at scrappyarts thinking it would be fun to have a challenege on a team sport level. The very first challeneg that pops up was to make a layout using a Becky Fleck sketch.

OMG I was completely terrified. I swear I have never really used a sketch to create a layout. Im more of a fly by the seat of my pants type of girl. I just move my stuff around til I like it. It gives me joy. I dont care if Im the top designer or anything. I just like to play. Anyway... back to the sketch.

I stared at it for days. I almost didnt do it. I dont know why the panic. Im an above average scrapper. I know all sorts of techniques. Why am I afraid of a sketch? I was really being quite ridiculous. I guess I was trying to convert to 2 8.5x11s... and at that time I didnt know it didnt have to be exact.

So I did it. (and taped it together hence the bad picture) I dont know why I was worried... it was fun to do. I figure even if it sucks and I dont move on, I can still have the satisfaction of finishing this. And I love those little EMU babies. So so cute. That was a great day too so the layout now makes me smile.

One year already?!

Its been a busy week or so since Ive blogged. Matt and
I celebrated our ONE year anniversary on the 22nd. We had a fabulous 2 days. Dinner at one of our favorite places (crab cakes, steaks, lotsa lotsa wine) The next afternoon we stopped at our favorite deli and then went to explore the great outdoors.(it was such a beautiful day). I took him up to the covered bridge I used to go to as a teen. Then we went up to Virginia Kendall park(ledges) and did a 2 mile trail. (I just found thatvirtual site and I'm in LOVE... go check them out)After all that exercise we sat on our fat booties at the movies and ate a big popcorn. hehehe

Later in the week Matt had to go out of town on business so I adjusted my work schedule so I could go with him. There wasn'tmuch for me to do at the hotel, but swim and play in the hot tub. Itwas very relaxing. I also found a hobby lobby!! Id never been to onebefore... so needless to say I spent at least an hour there wandering around and buying 50% off paper packs while Matt was working.

Now its business as usual again. Worked my booty off this weekend at work. On Sunday I got some scrapping done , and we hosted a drive by challenege at Caardvarks. Here is my little black and white baby. I just adore this poppy ink birdy cage stamp. I rushed home like a mad woman (from work at 3am) so I could get it. I normally dont get the "have to haves" but I couldnt help myself. Both the layout and the card are from the April Poppy Ink kit. I cant wait to see the new one tonight. :)

Have you seen?

May's beauitul Eye Candy Kit "Wanderlust"?

There are actually a few still available :) It has a cool journaling stamp.

It was so fun to work with. My favorite so far I think (Its so hard for me to pick favorites lol ) I got a beach layout and a wedding layout both out of this kit. This is one of mine.... My sweet little niece Maddy from camping a few years ago. I love this layout. She just looks so cute! I had fun making this one too. I used dimensional glaze and stickles on the flowers to add depth and sparkle. Im in love with stickles.

Go check see my other layouts and the awesome layouts the rest of the DT came up with.

My Coke problem....

Yes I have a problem. A bad coca cola problem. I love it. I will not drink Pepsi. Im one of those that if I order a Coke and you bring me a Pepsi, Im gonna be upset. There IS a difference

I had a case left from Matt's birthday party and I have been drinking 2 cans a day. Ugh! The calories Im wasting. I swear with all the coke and the chocolate Ive been eating this week Im going to gain 10 pounds. That will make me cranky.... Im supposed to try to lose 20 before we go to West Palm in July.

I had a great Easter despite the running around. Its amazing how much fun you can have with the simpliest things (like a package of stick on moustaches from my husband's easter basket AND how bad a plastic egg can hurt when you whip it across the room at someone.

On a scrappy note... its time to sign up for Happy Mail #2. I have been having a blast with the first round. If you like to send and recieve little bits of happiness check out the happy mail blog

Only in Ohio

Yesterday was beautiful. Bright sunny and 80 degrees. I sat on my balcony for awhile reading "Interview with a Vampire" in the warm sunshine. When I left work last night at 1am it was 62 degrees. No jacket required.

Today it is 29 and snowing. Is this some sorta belated April Fool's joke? I already took my coat to the cleaners. I put screens in some of the windows. Im ready for spring. It had it's chance to snow in Dec and January... it just chose not to.

I love the spring. It always feels fresh and new. The air smells fantastic and it always makes me feel spunky. Last week the sunshine made me go to target and buy things. New funky wedges, a couple pairs of flip flops and a few cute tops. Oh and a box of red hair dye.

It was a business decision. See.... I needed high lights. So I could
A. $7 to Dye red for a bit and $93 to buy scrapbook supplies or
B: Get highlights.

I'll be blonde again by summer... but this is fun for now ;)

OH......IO!!

Go buckeyes!!

I'll back back later with some news and some layouts... but this Penn State girl just had to cheer for her fellow BIG 10 school (as long as it isnt Michigan lol )

Sunday Sunday

(humming the Mamas & the Papas) I love my Sunday. Sunday is the day Matt and I get to see each other for most of the day. We sleep late. Maybe do something with one of our families. We go to dinner, to movies and generally be goofy. I love my Sundays. I never EVER work Sunday.

He had to go to the theater for a few hours this afternoon so I made this layout. I have tons of new years pictures to scrap but for some reason this one just called to me. (silly huh)I hadnt made jello shots since college and they turned out really well. Im surprised how much the guests liked them (since I being 28 was the youngest one there by quite a bit)

They are very easy to make. You make the jello as the package says but you use chilled alcohol instead of cold water in the final step. In this case I used watermelon vodka and raspberry jello. Man they were awesome! One big box of jello made enough for 20 or so people to have a few each.

Oh and by the way... I officially *LOVE* Hambly

Crazy days

AHHHH... That was my sigh of relief that St. Patty's day is over and I didnt have to kill anyone. I can say that is one day that being a bartender really REALLY sucks. I want to be celebrating too, but I cant because my hands are stained green, my back is killing me and some drunk keeps making lewd comment about the size of "the girls"

I actually scrapped this afternoon. I got my ZingBOOM kit yesterday and had to play with it. This is sorta fairy tale :) I love this picture and that you can see my Mom and my Auntie Jo lacing up my dress. I love that the kit colors are pretty close the the pinks and greens I used at my wedding.
I got the prettiest Happy Mail last week from my partner Joanna This little pocket is just gorgeous!! I giggled with delight at how pretty it was. The happy mail is getting fun. I just packed up my 2nd happy mail to Joanna along with 3 fabulous happy raks. There may be more coming soon too... I need to make more mini cards. :)
Im really loving Eye candy this month. I recieved my add on today with Jennifer's darling doodle tree stamp. The kit "The Notebook" is so romantic. I know this is a kit I will devour far beyond my 5 dt projects. I just got a hint on next month's kit and Im already drooling.
Oh I need to stop procrasting and scrap! XXOO.... and by the way Caardvarks #2 is now up!

Dreaming of vacation....

Everyone here has the sickie ickies. Frankly Im sick of feeling crappy. I want it to get warm and sunshiny not cold and rainy. I guess until July I will dream of vacation. I just pray we can save the $$. We are going to west palm beach in florida. I love our hotel.

The first time I went to Florida I was 13. My awesome Auntie Jo and Uncle Mike took us to Disney World in a motor home. 5 kids from Ohio to Florida and back for 2 weeks. Man they were brave. Im sure at some point we all needed beaten! Anyways... I found this picture today of myself, my cousins and my brothers being "held up" by the toon town police (you know from Roger Rabbit) Dont you just love the 90's! Yes that is me in the back.. with my bright oversized shirt, killer socks and that freakish perm frizzing in the Florida sun. I am sickened now by how cool I thought I was. hehehe You can so tell by my expression I thought I was too cool to pose. My cousin looks so annoyed and the other 3 went right into character. Priceless.

Rock on!

I need a mojo shot. I did manage to do layout of my little brother the other day. I found these little robots he drew me along with his school picture in a box from my old apartment. He'd probably *DIE* about this now at 16. (we wont tell him)

Im feeling a little inspired tonight. I got on late to get a fabulously funky zingBOOM kit and check out all the Poppy Ink add ons. I bought my first ever add on package... Dylan. I couldnt resist.

Speaking of PI...The whole Rockstar thing got me pulling out my mp3 player and jamming for awhile and jotting down notes for layouts while surfing the net. I have several titles, lyrics and themes running around my notebook.

So inspiration is here... mojo is gone. At least tomorrow is mY early night. I should be home by 9:30 from work. After I make dinner I can get some work done. Cards, dt projects and fun to do! :) Rock on girlies!

Sickies :(

I have a bad case of the sickies. The last 3 days have been rough.... but I think now Im finally getting better. Sunday I spent most of the day in bed with McDreamy. Im started watching season 1 of Grey's Anatomy and Im very addicted.

I was able to get out of bed today and play in my scraproom. I got 4 cards and a layout done! I also started working on a challenge blog Im doing with the *fabulous and talented* Jenyfur. We'll be doing weekly funky card challenges using a variety of different things. Stay tuned if you need to build your card stash with some unexpected fun :)

I missed 2 birthday parties on Sunday. My niece Megan turned 16, which seems impossible because when I met her she was still such a little girl. The other birthday is my fun loving friend Mindy who turned 28. She is such rockin chick and very good to my little brother. Happy birthday girls!

Same old same old

Nothing much going on here today. Hubs is home for lunch so were watching Arrested Developement. I so wish they hadnt cancelled that show. I didnt start watching til after it was off the air... and man is it funny!

I got a little present from Nikki G over at Poppy Ink! We did a ribbon button and blossom swap. I so love how she packaged everything! The coolest thing is I didnt have anything she sent me! I cant wait to play with everything. I keep thinking about those big fun buttons (wait that doesnt sound right)....Thanks bunches Nikki!

Have you girls checked out the Got Spirit? blog? If you havent you must. I love the idea of uplifting other scrappers and sending little treats. I love the idea of Happy Mail and have already started gathering little presents for my partner. Its not about spending money... its about brightening someone's day. Go see already!

Share the *love*

In honor of Valentine's week (it can last as long as I want dammit hehe) Here are a few of my favorite love quotes... hopefully they inspire a card, a layout or just you!

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and to be loved in return"
-Moulin Rouge (I know it was other stuff too... but I just *heart* that movie)

"True love is friendship set on fire"
-French Proverb (amen!)

If there ever comes a day
When we can't be together
keep me in your heart,
I'll stay there forever.
-Winnie the Pooh, (the sweetest quote ever)

The best thing to hold on to in life is each other
-Audrey Hepburn (I just adore Audrey)

" A true man does not need to romance a different girl every night, a true man romances the same girl for the rest of her lifetime."
--Ana Alas (*sigh*)

"I do love nothing in this world as well as you.... is that not strange"
-Shakespeare Much Ado about nothing (I just adore Shakespeare)

Have a happy Saturday! :)

Its still freezing here with snow drifts everywhere. It is a beautiful sunshiny day! I popped out of bed early today (probably had something to do with the bottle of Reisling I drank with the tasty filet my Valentine helped me make last night) Im hoping to get lots of scrapping done tonight. Thanks to my cupids I have lots of new toys.

Snow snow and more snow.

Im buried. We have to have a foot of snow and it's STILL snowing. I cant wait to go out and take pictures! Its like a winter wonderland outside. The bad thing is that I need to go to the grocery store to buy steaks to make for tonight for Valentine's day. I think I will wait til Matt can come home and drive me. The roads seem to be okay, but they are still covered with snow and ice.

We ended up closing early last night due to the weather and I got to come home and play! I started playing with presents from my Crazy Cupid! Here is a little layout I did last night with some of the wonderful fun stuff she sent me. (I couldnt wait to take a picture....I had to play hehehe!) This is Matt's Valentine for this year too. Im loving the KI Wildthang!! Thanks bunches crazy cupid (for my entire awesome package)

You want some cheese with that wine?

Im sleepy. Ive have been sleepy for days. Im getting enough sleep... yet I'm tired all the time. I need to be awake now!! I have stuff to do! It's hard to get motiovated right now. Its FREEZING. I dont think we've seen 10 degrees this week. The wind chills are in the negatives every night when I leave work. All I want do is climb under my big down comforter (with it's chocolate brown microsuede duvet) and be comfy and cozy.

Tomorrow I have to go to a winery and taste different wines for work. Im kinda excited that I may learn a bit more and find something I really like. I dont really like dry wines. A chianti sends me running in fear. (but hubs loves it) I really dig reislings, zinfendels and other sweeter wines. I love the red table wine from Uncle Primo's resturant. Unfortunately I have to drive 40 minutes to get some. I dont think wine and my establishment exactly go together... but hey... its worth a shot.

I got a package from my pub cupid today!! Ohh do I love chipboard. Kick ass plain jane flourishes and pretty pink heidi swapp alphas!! Thank you pub cupid!! I love it! You are a sweetie!

My little deck of me cards

I started doing the art card project (deck of me) on Emily Falconbridge's blog. I so love this project. I have only done 2 of the cards so far and I really hope to catch up after I finish the projects for the fabulously happy March Eye Candy kit. Here are the 2 cards Ive done so far. I dont know why I didnt scan the back... but I didnt.

Card #1 On the back: What are you proud of? I am proud that I pushed myself to try for things..... design teams, publications etc. I am proud of me for taking it well when I dont make it. I am SO critical of my work and Im so afraid of rejection usually. Im proud that I made the Eye Candy DT because I pushed myself. SR 1/26/07
Card #2 What is powerful to you? On the back: "The greatest thing you'll every learn is just to love and to be loved in return" (Moulin Rouge) SR 1/28/07

Present making time!!

Im having so much fun with swaps right now! Im feeling like the present fairy. Ive been making up swap "kits" all night. I really dont know what I like best... shopping for my person or getting that surprise package in the mail.

Speaking of surprises... Lookie what I got from my Pub Cupid!! Oh the blingaliciousness of it! (yes I like making up words)Lots of Mambi bling words and shapes. I so adore bling and I love vintage valentines! Thank you Thank you pub cupid!

Im so looking forward to the 2peas music inspiration swap. Im cracking up at my song and I have tons of kit pictures in my head.

I actually scrapped last night. Id been staring at my January Poppy Ink kit for a few days so it had to be touched. I so love this picture of us in the limo. I also love stickles. Im hooked! I actually have been using them for years. I found a few old bottles and before I knew it I had to go buy every color of the rainbow. I used the stickles to polka dot the letters and to add glitter to the flower centers. If youve never tried them... you need to go buy them! They are only like $1!

A little piss and vinegar

Some days we all have days like this... the total attitude. Im feeling like that right now. I swear if I go look in the mirror and put my hand on my hips I'd have the same look on my face. At least it's late enough that I wont have to feel agitated at my sweet husband. (who was awesome to me today)
Ive had an evil migraine since Saturday night. I was able to take something and have it reduced to a dull ache for most of the day... but its bad full force and I feel drugged from the medicine Ive been taking. Matt tried to make me feel better.... he even took me to the flower factory and was (semi) patient while I looked at EVERYTHING and stood smiling while I contemplated if I really needed a gigantic $8 bottle of mod podge. I love that man!
*and THANK YOU to my crazy cupid for my little birdy stamp!!**

A little ode to Floyd

I love Pink Floyd and I especially love the song Learning to fly. I think I bonded with it in college while I was searching for myself. One night while reliving old times in my little scrap "hole" I decided to scrap the lyrics. I love the colors of this layout! I glued sequins to the chipboard heart and I immediately wanted more.

*Note to self.... by more sequins*

You can listen to the song

Im a dumb blonde!

Yes... me! I for some reason had set my blog to only post comments I approve. I didnt know I did that! I was playing around my blog today and I found them.... all the awesome comments you gals have been leaving me the last few months. I always thought nobody loved me! Anyway... if you left me a note and felt ignored... Im so sorry! I can tell it it was quite awesome reading them all tonight in one sitting. I have been having a blah week and you gals totally made me smile!
Thank you XXOO!!

Wedding fun

Something wonky always happens at weddings. At mine my brother Ede got a flat tire on the way to the reception. My dad and my brother both stopped to help him change it. This picture my dad took on the side of the road of my 3 brothers, my brothers best friend and my sister (in the car) is just priceless! I kept the layout fairly simple to show off the pic!

Shades of Grey

Its been a long week. Work has been super boring... and of course super boring leads to no $.... No $ leads to no supply fix. I hate January.

Im very excited this afternoon. I just got an email from Basic Grey and they approved the cute little frame magnet for the online gallery. I know this isnt a big deal to most... but I was doing a little happy dance like 3 minutes ago. It was the first and only thing Ive submitted them and Basic Grey is probably my favorite. Anyway... here's the linky Basic Grey gallery

I so cant wait til the 4 new lines come out!! (sneak peeks start tomorrow)

Our Life: 2006

My funky little mini book. I really love it so. I know its kinda random and funky... but that's what I like about it. I sanded and modpodged a board book... covered it is the adorable Bam Pop! and Ki grateful. Papers and alot of the embellishments came from Poppy Ink November Kit. I did alot of doodling... and there's a ton of bling.

I cant wait for the new line of Bam Pop! papers to come out at CHA.

An Ode to lip balms

I have another addiction besides scrapbooking. I am a lip balm hoe. I cant help myself. I buy tons and tons... all different kinds. I am never anywhere without some sort of lip product.

*My favorite for hurting lips is definately Carmex
*My favorite for sunburned dry lips is Burt's Bees (I love the tingle)
*Body Shop Born Lippys taste mah-velous!
*One cant live without a lipsmacker or 2
*Keihl's is so soothing

I will try any new blam I see! I love having a variety to choose from. I have at least one in every purse, car, coat pocket and room. I hate hate hate it if my lips feel chapped or dry.

Old pictures

I love pictures from the 70's. I could sit looking at big boxes of pictures all night and be content. I found this one of me in an album that belonged to my great grandmother. I so love my outfit and my adorable little hat. What really rocks my socks is that I still have that little horsie in a box somewhere. I loved it so much I saved it for my kiddos. I cant wait to scrap this pic!

I love this picture too! Me and Butchie (what I called Matthew when we were kids) We loved low ridin on the big wheel. :)Dontcha just dig my argyle vest with matching socks. Ive always been a fashion diva ;)

Its a New Year baby!

I started making goals for myself somewhere around last June. I had been so busy with the wedding I hadnt had time to do anything for almost a year. (and the stuff I had done was pretty sad) Ive spent the last 6 months growing in my art (can I call it art) I learned, I eveolved, I found my style.

In 2006 I did think I did great. I made small goals and I pushed myself thru them. I made it onto 2 design teams. I won 3 layout contests. I scrapped 30 layouts in 30 days (2x)Ive tried new products, expanded into stamping. I even made a gigantic presentation board of pictures for the wedding.

I cant wait to see what 2007 brings me.

I want to be published
I want to do at least 250 layouts
I want to do at least 5 mini books
I want to do an awesome job for Eye Candy
I want to do more altered projects
I want to do more challenges
Here's a little layout I did last month. The picture is my sister Hannah and I (probably about 7 years ago) at Mario's Spa. :) I inked the entire thing silver. I the crown stamp is Rhonna Farrer. I inked and marbled the cherry arte chipboard flowers.

Im a candy Girl!!!

I am so excited to be designing for Eye Candy Kits! I still cant believe it and Ive known for a week! I cannot wait to get my first kit! I was drawn to this particular kit because they are what they say... Pure Eye Candy! Romantic, sweet and a little spunky. I love the unique embellishments they offer. January's tags blew me out of the water. Run to check out this kit before it sells out AGAIN!
